Having a tooth pulled isn’t anyone’s thought of a good time. At Woodlake Family Dentistry tooth extraction is our last resort as we prefer to save your natural teeth if at all possible, however, there are times when the only option is extraction due to advanced tooth decay and persistent pain. Don’t worry, there are several options for replacing extracted teeth and restore your smile.
Pulling teeth isn’t as difficult as it sounds. Proximity and the relative size of the tooth determine the extensiveness of the tooth extraction procedure. For example, a front tooth with a single root is usually easier to extract than a molar or back tooth that has multiple roots. It is our goal to extract teeth carefully in order to preserve your precious surrounding bone and tissue. We focus on making the entire process comfortable and relaxing.
Wisdom Teeth Removal
Most people need to have their wisdom teeth removed due to crowding. Wisdom teeth tend to not really fit our mouths well, and cause other teeth to move painfully. The earlier wisdom teeth are removed the better. Early removal prevents potential damage to neighboring teeth, bone, gum tissue, nerves, and blood vessels.
A few people are lucky with their wisdom teeth never causing problems like gum infections, jawbone cysts, and bone loss. Impacted wisdom teeth push and crowd neighboring teeth causing overlaps, misalignment, and pain. Woodlake Family Dentistry recommends removing wisdom teeth before they cause these issues.
Your Comfort is Our Mission
